Ornamental Pieces Found 10 Inches Deep!

Today the temperature was 95 degrees and the soil was bone dry, since we haven't had rain in NW Indiana for about a month. I decided to hit an old farm site that I've had my eye on for sometime now.  The Coinstrike was my choice for detectors because it always seems to work best at these old sites.  The area was overgrown with weeds and hungry mosquitoes!  I started finding what-is-its right from the get go.  My first finds were ornamental pieces which came from depths of around 10 inches.  The watch case, what's left of it, was 6 inches deep.  I got the two Buffalo Nickels near the back porch which were 4 and 6 inches deep.  I can say the Coinstrike is a lot like the CZ's as it loves nickels!  The Rosie was found in the front yard at around 4 inches deep.  The only shallow targets I received were the two cars which were 2 inches deep at best.  The Coinstrike is such an easy and fun machine to use.  A few adjustments and you have one deep seeking machine.  My setting on this detector was a sensitivity of 5 and the threshold setting of -25.  My disc for iron was set at 99.  The Coinstrike has proven itself over and over time again as one deep seeking machine that works great in trash and as a great pinpointer.  Today I dealt with a few crown caps that fooled me and the machine.  The Coinstrike sure does love round items. Those rusted crown caps can be tough to hear the subtle difference from a coin as far as hearing the signal break up a little.  I find this Fisher metal detector to be my favorite. The only real change I would like to see Fisher make is to put a mechanical type of push-button for the pinpoint button.  This isn't really a problem in the summer for me, but in the fall hunts when I wear gloves, pushing the button can be a little hard.  A lot of Coinstrike users put adhesive buttons over the pinpoint pad which can be bought at any hardware store.  The next thing I would like to see, for the Coinstrike, would be a smaller coil.  This, to me, would make this machine the best trash machine on the market!  It does a heck of a great job now in the trash with the 8 inch coil.  Separation is superb for an 8 inch coil.

The Coinstrike is hip mountable allowing detectorists to hunt all day with no fatigue. Whether you want to hunt relics or coins, you can't go wrong choosing the Coinstrike, backed by Fisher's Lifetime Warranty.
