5 Inch EXcelerator Finds What No Others Can

I got out today with the new 5 inch EXcelerator coil for Garrett. I was using the Garrett GTI 1500 and I was hunting at an old house that I have hunted before with a couple of other detectors. This place has to be one of the most trashy places I have on my list of places to hunt. I figured if I found anything I would be doing great.

When my first signal said it was a half dollar I was certain it would be a chunk of aluminum can or something similiar. To my surprise it was two quarters a 51 and a 64 stuck together at 5 inches deep! I rescanned the hole and there wasn't anything else except about 6 inches from the plug I dug a 4 inch round iron ring! I can only speculate thats what kept me from detecting these quarters on earlier outings. After about another 45 minutes and digging alot of iffy signals and only one 1920 wheatie I got another loud belltone and a half dollar reading again. This one turned out even better than the first as it turned out to be a man's 14k ring with a diamond in the middle and two rubys on each side of the diamond.

The ring has some junk stuck on it so I cleaned it up. As you can see it came out looking quite nice. I was able to read the 14k on the inside but don't know if the stones are real yet. It was about 4 inches deep. I can honestly say this coil is a winner from just one trip out!! I will continue using it and will give you some more reports from the field.
