Beautiful 1883 Indian Penny Was 6 Inches Deep!
As I was admiring my find, an older gentleman walked up to me and started asking about detecting. He asked if I would be interested in detecting his yard of his home which was built in 1898. I tried to hold back my excitement the best I could and told him I would be happy to. This was a small yard front and back of this old two story but I knew it just had to hold something old in way of coins. He told me he raised 3 kids at this house and I should find something. Donnie excels with Minelab's X-70 on his first use at the DIV 5 Hunt
I setup the X70 just like I did the day before.  The machine continued to work well with the most noticeable aspects being great depth and great separation of signal.  This day was strictly a bullet day with a total of 41 minieballs. The weather guesses were calling for cold temperatures and snow early in the week. So this past weekend, I decided to take the X-TERRA 30 out for one last hunt before I winterized it. X-TERRA 50 Finds Coins On Worked-Out Site!
Hard to believe that a couple weeks ago we had 8 inches of snow on the ground. But, temps have slipped back up into the 40's and we even had a couple days of 50 degrees last week. Yesterday, Bill and I decided to hunt an old picnic grounds that has been kind to us for over 15 years. With sloppy ground underfoot, and a stiff breeze blowing across the field, we still managed to pull a few nice coins from the bean stubble. Here are the three nicest ones I got. . .
