Over ten years ago(1974) I first visited Stu Auerbach at his home in central Florida. At that time I was impressed with his approach and concepts concerning the hobby of metal detecting.  Stu recognized the need for someone, or group, to provide actual field test data on all metal detectors, under various operating conditions, ranging from the ideal to the most adverse.  Varied tests were needed to assure the customer that the detector he purchased from Kellyco would perform to his individual requirements.  From this idea the "Kellyco Test Team" was born.  Since then it has provided a wealth of information to the general public while continuously recommending improvements to various manufacturers, which has resulted in the development of detectors with greater performance and simplicity of operation.
