I would like to introduce myself. I am a U.S. government civilian employee presently stationed overseas. Due to some boredom that I tend to suffer with on the weekends (being away from family). I decided to take up metal detecting as a new hobby. I searched the internet and found your company with all the varieties of metal detectors a person could conceivably want to use either as a beginner, weekender, or professional. Additionally, your prices and free accessories as advertized are great.

First and foremost, I would like to praise your staff with the above mentioned names (Margaret, Wanda, Roger) in sales that were extremely instrumental in one, helping me to choose the right detector for me and two, giving all the advice I can use in metal detecting to feel absolutely comfortable in my new venture. I purchased a new Garrett GTI 2500 from Wanda and got vast amounts of advice and knowledge in detecting from her and Roger. I will be purchasing another (two) detectors soon from Wanda and Roger.

In conclusion, I would like to praise and thank Margaret in your international shipping department for her first efficient, most effective work and knowledge in shipping your products overseas. I am writing to tell you about my experience with one of your sales people - Steve.

I called last week interested in buying my husband a metal detector for Christmas. As I could not have any information show up on e-mail I had to call. I also had a very bad case of laryngitis at the time and I know he had a terrible time hearing me. Plus, to make matters even more fun, I had to have this shipped to a friends house as my husband is retired and he would have been here to receive the package - not good!

Steve had the patience of a Saint. He explained the units, asked what, where and how and pointed me in the right direction. A unit that would work for my husband, who has no experience and in my price range. I have received it, it is now wrapped and waiting for Christmas Eve to go under the tree.

Wrong Metal Detector
Recently purchased an Excalibur 1000 from KellyCo. Somewhere between the order and the shipment it managed to turn into an Excalibur 800 unit instead. After spotting the inconsistency on the shipping notice, I sent my concerns about it via email. What happened next is what impressed me the most.

The individual who had sent the email(and the one I responded with my concerns ) notified the carrier and stopped the shipment of the incorrect unit. She then put the order through for the correct one and overnighted it to me. She did all this before calling me to let me know what was happening with the order. The phone call was simply a heads up for me :)

The detector arrived the next day and I can't be happier with it. Can't express how satisfied I am with the level of customer service. Very rare to see a company that will take the extra steps to make everything right.My thanks to KellyCo and Karen Brown for outstanding service. I will not hesitate to utilize your services again.

My New Metal Detector Wouldn't Work!! - Kellyco Replaced It

Because of your ads of prices, services, etc. I bought over the phone a new metal detector. This was a very large outlay for me. The clerk was very nice, and I recieved my machine in the time specified. I assembled it and rushed right out to try it. I only had a short time and it seemed ok. I then, the next day, drove over to my son's house 60 miles, to, "Show off" my new acquisition. Alas, it wouldn't work!! I tried everything according to the book, which I had with me, but could not make it work. As a last resort, I used my cell phone to call Kellyco. I was referred to Bonnie. She was really great. She had me try everything, even including my walking out into the middle of the field to make sure of no interference. We went through the settings. Then she got another gentleman on the phone and we went through everything again - No Dice.

They agreed that this was a problem in the electronics. Bonnie told me to box it up and the carrier would pick it up for a return, and she would ship me a replacement metal detector by return mail.

The box was picked up 2 days later and not too much longer than that I received my new metal detector. It is so refreshing that in this day and age of not being a customer, only a number, that you come across a company that really cares and helps. My son will be purchasing a new detector soon, and will consider no one else but Kellyco. Thanks again for a great experience. Wayne

Awesome Detector

  • Good morning tony. It's been a while sinse our last talk. Was able to get out for about 9 hours this weekend. Picked up nine dollars in change, a pocket knife, silver cross, and two rings one silver one aluminum. Question, when I turn on and go with noise cancel and I’m off. I never find nickels. Do I need to go to a different mode. Can you tell me from your experience how fast should I swing from side to side? The handle where you hold it keeps coming loose. I might be swinging too fast. Where I found all this stuff is where I went before with my bounty hunter, the explorer out performed it two to one, in every way especially deeper. The silver ring was 10 inches down. I started to carry a tape just to see how deep the explorer really goes. Thanks to you and the kellyco team for all your hard work in keeping us customers happy. Kevin M.

  • Hello, Wow, I’m very glad to see that you love that awesome detector. I told you that it was deep and will find just about anything that’s there. I would slow your sweep speed down a bit though. You don’t have to creep around with it but don’t swing too fast or you will miss stuff. Just go a nice smooth medium speed with it and it will perform better. You should pick up nickels no problem with it unless you have them discriminated out. Check those couple of things and let me know, as I’m here to help you out. First, let me begin by saying that I am totally pleased and impressed by the response(s) to my problem, both from you (Kellyco) and Keene Engineering.
To refresh your memory, I had ordered a Keen A52 hand sluice from you folks, and the fastener set that came with it was missing a few pieces. I wrote in (to Kellyco) wondering if another single screw/nut set was available. Apparently, someone from Kellyco contacted Keene, as Keene shipped my (via priority mail, no less!) a complete new set of fasteners. All of this happened in a matter of just a few days!
For the record, the original ones shipped with the sluice were not only missing parts, but were of a completely different type, so I originally must've gotten (not enough of) the wrong ones!
I feel that I contacted your firm with a 29 cent problem, and was met with million dollar customer service, both from your company and Keene Engineering. In the not-too-distant future, when it is time to add a ‘good' metal/gold detector to my prospecting equipment, I will be dealing with Kellyco, exclusively. I figure that if your company can show this much concern and help over a relatively trivial issue, then should a ‘big' problem ever arise, it would be no problem at all!

This Excelerator is a Killer Coil!!
First off, regardless of what, this is a killer coil!! I will never bad mouth the Excelerator coils, nor listen to them be bashed on the forums. However, mine has gotten ‘Super sensitive'. It acts like something is loose inside the coil. It got really noisy and seems to sound off when it touches anything. Thanks for the help and I look forward to getting the Excelerator #2. Great Finds With My Bounty Hunter Quickdraw 2!
I received my Bounty Hunter Quickdraw 2 for my birthday this year in November. We live on 37 acres in east Tenn. My son and I walked up our ridge today with my metal detector. There's an old path where people went to church on Sundays many, many years ago. When we reached the top I got a great hit! We dug up 2 pennies dating 1946 and 1942. On the way down I got another good reading! We dug up a silver ring!!! The best was yet to come however. When we got close to our house, we got another hit! This turned out to be an old Indian Head Penny dating 1902! We've enjoyed the Quidkdraw 2 so much. THANKS!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting your store in Winter Springs, FL. My children bought me a Kellyco Metal Detector for Christmas and I was having a hard time getting used to it. Dressed neatly in army fatigues, she fit the image of someone going out and getting dirty while hunting for treasure with a metal detector.

Remarkable for a Beginners Machine (ACE 250)
Land hunted on old beach a super low tide and managed to dig a 14K girls small gold ring at the water line. Then hit a new construction site, dug some flat buttons, took my grandsons there yesterday and dug a circa 1805 1st Regiment artillery button. Worked half day, took the grandsons back and we dug an 1883 Indian head penny and 1918 wheat back which makes a return necessary!
We used my grandson's new Christmas present, a Garrett Ace 250 which for $199 at Kellyco gets almost as deep at my CZ-70! The CZ-70 detected the Indian head penny at 8-10 inches and the Ace 250 could barely hear it, but the Ace 250 is doing well at up to 8 inches. The Ace 250 is remarkable for a beginner machine. I called JW at Kellyco about my coil. JW asked me what the coil was doing and said is sounds like it was just a bad coil. He replaced the 14 inch Excelerator coil that I got and had the shipping paid for when I sent the defective one back. The people at Kellyco are good to deal with. I just wanted to vent a little. I recently bought an MXT metal detector from a local dealer. I am so upset that I didn't know about you a little sooner. I definitely would have bought it from Kellyco.
