Denitsa 10x12 S.E.F Butterfly Search Coil
Denitsa 10x12 S.E.F Butterfly Search Coil
I thought you might like to hear my review of the 10x12" SEF coil for the White's DFX that I received from you about one month ago, and see some of the results it has given me. Simply put, this coil is has been amazing! I've spent most of this month re-detecting my own farm, one that I have been hunting for years with other detectors and coils. The 10x12 continues to prove that it can finish the job the others only began.
I started off in my yard, in which I had given up on the possibility of finding any more old coins. The first thing that I noticed was, despite expecting to have to turn my sens DOWN on the DFX, I actually put the sens UP a few numbers and remained fair...
Garrett GTI 2500 Pro
Garrett GTI 2500 Pro
I currently own a GTI 2500 that Garrett sent me in exchange for stories and finds. I've been metal detecting for 6 years and have done quite well. I detected in England for a week in February and did real well finding my first Gold Coin (a celtic quarter stater that dates to 65 BC) among other things, roman coins, a George Washington Innagural Button, and over 50 colonial coins.
I live in Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada and teach History to Junior High students which has been a huge advantage as far as gaining permission to hunt some off limit sites. I volunteer with local Historical Societies as well.
On Saturday I took out a couple buddies to a NWMP...
Garrett Ace 250
Garrett Ace 250
I have been a member since 2002. Since I bought my Ace 250, I have found a lot of coins, rings, and jewelry including a men's Titanium ring with a diamond chip on it, and a gold/silver heard-shaped pendant....
Minelab Excalibur II
Minelab Excalibur II
Treasure Ring Find of a Lifetime! I had often read all the "find of a lifetime" stories in the metal detecting magazines and I thought to myself how would I react if I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. Finding something that would make
the headlines in the metal detecting world was the furthest thing from my mind when I packed my metal detector in the family vehicle that evening. The next morning we headed North for the trip up to the treasure coast for a family day at the beach on the famous Treasure coast of Florida and on to our date with treasure hunting destiny. The beach we had planned to visit was one that I had metal detected at b...
Minelab Excalibur II
Minelab Excalibur II
I just started working at Kellyco a few weeks ago and I decided to borrow a detector and see what this business is all about. I wanted to take one out to the beaches because I live about 40 minutes from Daytona Beach. So I signed out a Minelab Excalibur, got some pointers from Nathan, and went out on a Thursday evening. It was getting dark out but there were several other metal detectorists on the beach. I put my headphones on, handed my wife a digger, and started my search for treasure. The loudest tone I got was a very elusive fishing hook. But I also managed to find a rusted pipe, two pennies, several nails, a watch that still works, and a little piece of scrap...
White's Spectra V3i
White's Spectra V3i
Hi JW, I went back to the construction sight, where I recovered my second silver dollar yesterday. I got there just as it was getting light so I would be ahead of the construction workers. A lot of the dirt had been removed since yesterday but there still was an area to hunt. I hunted for about an hour before I got my first good signal. I got a VDI reading of 90-92 indicating 50 cents at 2" deep. The soil was loose and I used my hand to remove the soil, and out popped this shiny coin. It was a coin that I am not familiar with. It took me a moment to see that it was a 1910 silver Canadian half dollar. It is well worn but still a very nice find. Before leaving the hunt sight, I ...
Minelab Excalibur II
Minelab Excalibur II
A friend of mine asked me to search for a wedding band that he had lost 14 years ago while feeding fish in his pond. He told me that he knew about where it was located and he has tried several times to locate it with friends detectors. He even went out and bought a detector but had no luck. I told him that I had just bought a Minelab Excalibur Water Detector. He said OK I will give you this challenge.
We went to the spot and it was grown up with weeds over the years since he had sold this property. We both had little hope at site of the area. He told me that he would get something to chop down the weeds. While he was gone I decided to work my way down to the water. I was ab...
White's DFX 300
White's DFX 300
I think Whites Metal Detectors, hands down, are the best in the world, especially, the DFX. I Have had mine about six months and a month ago I was scanning with my DFX, in a park near my home in Dixon, California. The place in the park where I was detecting use to have a really old three story house on part of the park grounds. I was over by some huge black walnut trees, when I received a super strong signal indicating silver, so i started digging. At about 10 inches I found a baby food jar with sixteen old coins in it. It had an 1877 Liberty seated quater, 1920 mercury dime, 1930 buffalo nickel, two Libery head nickels 1893 and 1897 and three Indian head pennies which are 189...
