GPX 5000 Finds Items Other Detectors Would Miss!

02/21/16

Was out to the beach early today and went to a spot that I've found a lot of indian heads and some seated liberty's... nothing of that nature today but did find some 1800s stuff...for me,first time out with the 5000, I'd say it'll do well. Some of the stuff was deeper than I imagined and I've been at this beach for the last 15 years or so.

The buckle in the upper right hand corner was down a good 15 to 18 inches and it was down at the bottom of the hole. I had to use two full scoops of sand and my scoop is 8 or so inches deep. I'd say thebigger items were down between 12 to 18 inches. I'm satisfied.A couple of those quarters were down at least a foot but the thing I'm happy with are the fine wire stuff like the thing near the big buckle in the upper right corner. My Vision would probably have missed that one. The heel plate goes back to at least the turn of the century or before. I have quite a few of those. Remember this beach, Rockaway, goes back to the early 1800s when the NYC people would take a ferry over...no bridges back then. I'll keep you uptodate on my findings as I use the 5000 more. Have a good weekend.
