Holiday 2022 Shipping Timelines and Delays
Published by Jenna Anderson on 09/24/20
This holiday shopping season is anticipated to be yet again unpredictable and fluctuating. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, shipping channels have been bogged down with more packages than ever. Kellyco is doing everything we can to prepare our team and our warehouse to get your packages out as soon as possible.
We will continue to get your orders ready within 24 hours from the time of your purchase; if it is ordered by 5:00 PM ET, your order will be ready to ship the same day. Package pickups are dependent upon the courier. The transit times, order deadlines, and arrival dates quoted in our Kellyco catalog or online are based on information provided by the courier and are dependent on the courier. We recommend getting started on your holiday shopping as soon as possible to avoid any delays or Christmas day disasters.
According to these courier’s websites and current holiday information, these are the last days to ship in order to reach you by December 24, 2022:
- USPS last day to ship via Priority Mail: December 19, 2022
- UPS last day to ship via Ground Services: December 14, 2022
- FedEx last day to ship via FedEx Ground: December 14, 2022
“Industry-wide supply chain challenges that include factory shutdowns, chip shortages, and port congestion are expected to last through the holidays and well into next year.” – CNBC
“We’re seeing an astronomical rise in shipping rates, a dramatic lengthening of transit times, and a logjam of cargo at every port. Shippers are scrambling to figure out how to get their goods to market in time for the Christmas selling season.” – Neel Jones Shah, global head of airfreight at Flexport, a logistics technology company
“[The supply chain] has been snarled by a host of factors: the pandemic, booming consumer demand, raging storms, shortages of cargo ships and containers as well as a lack of people willing to drive trucks or stock shelves in warehouses and retail stores for the wages offered.” – Los Angeles Times
“The nation’s three largest carriers – FedEx, UPS and the United States Postal Service – have released their 2021 holiday shipping deadlines, which are the recommended last day to ship gifts. The dates are almost identical to 2019 and 2020 deadlines. But consumers should brace themselves for late packages and possible disappointment even if they meet the cutoffs amid the coronavirus pandemic and with widespread supply chain disruptions.” – USA Today
