All Commerical/Professional Non-GPR devices that use visual representation or live feedback to give the user shape and material information about targets before digging. These systems provide the most pre-dig information so you can make informed decisions before breaking ground. These devices cannot identify material 100% but provide a "Best Guess" that you can use to your advantage. There is no X-Ray Vision or Metal Identification System that works on buried targets, but these are the best the market has to offer. Some require the information to be processed on a computer later, so make sure you are gathering as much data as you can before leaving a site for the day. Mulitple Passes in Multiple Patterns for cross referencing is common practice when collecting data.
