1200s Coin Metal Detecting Find
Published by Michael K. on 08/27/18
My name is Michael Kent, and I am in the US military stationed in Germany. I just picked up my first metal detector ever from the post office TODAY! The coin I found on my first trip out was a French Knights Templar coin from the 1200s. The coin was found in a farm field right around the corner from my house! I was just learning to use my first detector EVER, the Minelab Equinox 600, which I had just gotten 3 hours prior to the find. My first time ever even touching a detector was 2 months ago. The coin was about 13 inches down and I found it with the assistance of the Vulcan 360 pinpointer. The coin is over 700 years old, and in fantastic shape!
