Bracelet Lost for 60 Years
02/21/16

I was at a local middle school that was a grade 1-12 school back in the day. I have been here several times before and found several silver coins. On Friday the January 24th I made a find that was more amazing than I knew at the time. I found a small Sterling bracelet with a name on it. I did not know who the person was or what he meant to my town until I researched it. I moved to Winder Ga 4 years ago and the man on the bracelet passed away in 2006.

Come to find out he was a WELL loved city councilman for 35 years and had done numerous great things for Winder. The town dedicated the newly refurbished Fire station to him in his name. He was Billy Sheridan and graduated from the school in 1955 but went there from grade 1-12 so we are not sure when he lost it. I made contact with the family through Face Book and Fox 5 Atlanta (news station) covered the return. Here is a link to that story.
