<p><strong>I woke up this morning to a cold but sunny November day and had the urge to go out and detect.</strong> I knew that I couldn't hit a few of my favorite celler holes due to it being hunting season in my area. So I decided to hit the sports fields at a local Summer Camp I work at and had gotten permission to detect.</p> <p>I knew the camp has been around before the 30's and that before that it was a farm. I also knew that the camp fields had been worked over with bulldozers and other equipment to make the fields. But, I was bored and had the itch so I headed out.</p> <p>I set the Safari at the coin/jewelry setting. The first spot I decided to try was the soccer field. I decided to run a 50' by 50 ft grid pattern on it and was about half way done my first grid when the Safari sang a nice tone to me and the ID#10 and the screen showed a picture of a ring amd a depth of about 8".</p> [split] <p>I was like no way not at a boys camp. I dug expecting a piece of junk when I saw something gold about 7.5" down, it was a 10k gold mens wedding ring, a first for me. By now my heart was beating but I decided to go on and almost at the end of that same grid the Safari again sang out another tone and the ID# 35 showing a coin at about 5". I started to dig and got about 5.5" when I saw something shiny expecting foil I pulled out a 1918 Walking Liberty Half. I knew I had found a honey hole and quickly set up another grid. </p> <p>I stayed for another hour and a falf and pulled out another ring a silver celtic one, 2 mercury dimes, 2 buffalo nickels, several wheaties and a 1910 Liberty V-Nickel. Most of these are first for. Found it odd did not dig any modern coins. Am doing a little more research on the area. Love how accurate the Safari is, pinpointing is spot on!!! Cannot wait to go back!!</p>
