E-TRAC Leads to a Find of a Lifetime
02/21/16

I was hunting with my MD partner at a local park with my E-TRAC. We hunt specifically for gold and silver jewelry.

I was finding a few coins and only found out at the end of the day when I looked at my coins that I had found my first Barber dime and an Indian head penny.

It was extremely hot and I was nearing my endurance limit. I worked near a picnic table and got what I believe was a 12-28 reading amongst the heavy trash. That number is usually trash, but I have found a small silver bracelet with that number, so I cut a plug.

Boy, am I glad I did! About 2-3 inches down, sticking out of the side of the plug was an extremely bright yellow object. Instantly I knew it was at least 22kt. gold.

I slowly pulled it out, but it was attached to something. As I continued to pull, I realized it was a pendant attached to a chain. I carefully cut around it and gently pulled it out. It was a 21” 22kt. chain with a 24kt. dragon pendant weighing a whopping 44.7 grams. My jeweler appraised it at $5250!

Truly a find of a lifetime. Thank you Minelab!
