Gene Knigh – Kellyco Former Senior Test Team Member

Hi, my name is Gene Knight and I was a Senior member of the Kellyco test team. I have extensive knowledge of many different brands of metal detectors and have been an avid detector user for most of my life.

Here are some of my findings after taking the Minelab GO-FIND 22 metal detector for some in-the-field testing. For a Detector that Minelab calls “Entry Level,” I was very impressed with the performance of this machine. As with the other Minelab GO-FIND series, the Minelab GO-FIND 40 and the Minelab GO-FIND 60, the compatibility of this machine is really awesome as well as it’s being very lightweight. It was easy to use and I was very impressed with the depth and separation between targets that I was getting from the new type 8″ coil. Recovery speed was impressive, which I think would make this a great detector for any first time buyer.

Minelab GO-FIND 22

I took the Minelab GO-FIND 22 to a local park and did well, I didn’t expect to find anything old considering it’s a newer park but nonetheless the Minelab GO-FIND 22 performed well. Among the many coins I dug, the deepest target that day was good 6″ on a dime and the signal was nice and strong so there is no doubt in my mind that it would pick that same coin up potentially at 8″ to 10″. The Minelab GO-FIND 22 metal detector is a very easy to use, easy to tune machine that is extremely light and compact with a lot of features that are very attractive to the first time detectorists and at a price point in the $170 range makes it an awesome value!
