M6 Does it Again!

I work in the telecommunications field and have been doing a lot of work in homes located in the older section of town. If the homeowner is happy with my work I ask for permission to hunt their property and am often rewarded with strange looks and a “Yes...go ahead.” This is exactly how I procured permission to hunt a home site that was built in 1925 and served as a doctor’s office for many years.

The backyard of this home was small and leaf covered. I managed to pull out several trinkets that included an old sewing thimble, bullets, a buffalo nickel and several wheat cents. I knew there had to be some sort of silver there. Finally, nearing the end of the yard I got a very choppy deep signal that kept bouncing into the quarter range. I dug down 10 inches into some heavily mineralized soil and out popped the pictured 1904 Barber quarter. I never would have been able to detect it without my M6 and its matching 10” DD coil.
