<p><strong>I recently received permission to hunt property that dates back to the mid 1700’s. </strong>One of the houses used to be and old inn that burnt down in the early 1900’s and was later rebuilt. The other half of the property had a horse and carriage barn on it which had been recently torn down. I have been lucky enough to hunt other old sites here in Connecticut, so I knew to expect a lot of iron, lead and square nails.</p> [split] <p>Luckily, I purchased a 6x10dd White’s Eclipse coil in the fall of 2011 so I knew I had the advantage of getting really precise target separation amongst all the iron and nails. Armed with the 6x10dd at the end of my M6, I felt very confident that I would make some great finds. Sure enough, my M6 did not let me down. Some of my finds included three pieces of antique jewelry, 6 silver coins, colonial copper coins, military buttons, flat buttons, dozens of relics, an antique pocket watch and even an old pistol. These were all great finds indeed but I would have to admit that my favorite discovery would have to be a Vintage Kreisler USA ladies antique bracelet. Kreisler started making fine jewelry in 1913 and later closed down in 1932 during the "Depression”. It reopened in 1933 and continued making jewelry up until 1952. The bracelet is marked 025 gold on silver and even had initials and a street address engraved on it.</p> <p>I was able to find this bracelet even though it was in an area near the road which had electrical wires over hanging the location. The wires were giving the M6 some interference so I lowered my sensitivity and then got a signal directly below the wires. Six inches down into my dig and there she was. It was very satisfying making this find under very challenging conditions but even more satisfying because I was able to locate the family of the original owner and reunite them with their aunt’s bracelet. Definitely my most enjoyable hunt to date!</p>
