[split] I have had other detectors in the past and have been around others with the White’s detectors. I was impressed while on hunts by the finds the White’s machines would produce behind me and other detectors. I began researching the White’s machines, and I chose the MXT. When I picked the machine up, the saleslady said “happy hunting”. I said to her, “all I want to do is find a ½ dime”. She remarked, “That is a first, most people say they want to find a gold coin”. I said, “If I look hard enough to find a ½ dime, then I will be looking close enough to find a gold coin”. She laughed and said good luck. I had been studying the MXT and its settings before I picked it up. Once I picked it up, I wanted to get familiar with the machine and its settings etc. I took it to an old place that has been looked over many times. I began sweeping a few areas just getting used to the tone and depth etc. I decided to move around to different areas, digging here and there. I hit on a signal that I knew was a good signal, so I started digging. There it was, an 1837 ½ dime. I thought I was mistaken, I could not believe that on my first test run with the White’s I had actually found the one coin I had been hunting for so long. My confidence in the White’s machine was now as high as it could be. The next weekend, I decided to try another well detected spot, and a few hours into the hunt, another good signal. I dug carefully and when it popped out of the ground I almost couldn't believe it. Another ½ dime, an 1842 seated liberty ½ dime. Within a matter of days of owning the MXT, I found not one but two ½ dimes. The one coin I have been hunting for. I have not found any gold coins, but I believe if there is one for me to find, I will find it with the MXT. This machine is a deep coin magnet. My finds have increased thanks to the MXT. I don’t think there is a better detector. It is very easy to set up and use and very accurate. I prefer to use the relic mode for coin hunting. And buttons, finding lots of those too. I think buying the MXT was the best move I made. I have other machines, but my trust is in the White’s. I firmly believe that if I’m not using the White’s, then I am missing more than I am finding.
