MXT Finds a Union Eagle Breastplate

I recently purchased a White's MXT metal detector. Yesterday evening , September 1, 2013 I decided to search around my front yard near Smithfield , North Carolina. I had the detector in relic mode and had found two Roosevelt clad dimes then I got a strong signal of a 62 VDI. I dug down 6 inches and uncovered what I thought was an old soup can lid. When I recovered it and flipped it over I realized I had found a rare civil war breast plate. It is in over all great shape with most of the lead back still intact but missing the hooks. I look forward to many more relic finds and nothing can beat a White's detector!!!
