MXT Finds Old Guardian Angel

Published by Jessica M. on 02/21/16

I wanted to share this find with you all. I found this religious medallion on a playground. At first, the VDI was all over the place 21-63 and after several sweeps it settled at 63, I thought for sure I had another penny. I moved a few wood chips aside and sure enough there was a penny sitting there. After picking up the penny I re-checked the area and this time my trusty MXT rang out a good 21 VDI. After digging a bit deeper, there it was. A bit of research tells me that the icon is a guardian angel medallion. It weighs 16.9 grams, but it is not gold. After 11 years of detecting I think this goes down as my favorite find to date, it is aged and holds great character. Amazing to me, the MXT rang both targets in the initial sweep, and both VDI's paid off in the same hole. The MXT is a truly remarkable machine. I plan on adding this to a nice gold chain and wear it as my new guardian angel.
