The day started out cold, but with sunny skies and no breeze the day began to get warm quickly. This is the second time I have hit this Revolutionary War site and had high hopes of goodness.
Half way through the day after finding numerous flat buttons and countless colonial square head nails. I had a 12-39,41,40,44 hit in all directions. First let me say the soil is mostly sandy with high mineralization. This is why I think the numbers were jumpy. So I proceeded to dig about 7-8" down and out popped an 1730 King George II Half Penny. My oldest and coolest coin. The sand helped keep in nice condition.

I was using the Minelab CTX 3030 with the standard coil, which has been a proven powerhouse. Thanks.
