My V3i Finds Gold at the Beach
02/21/16

Recently we had a club hunt at a local beach here in central California. I started out using my trusty TDI SL but found out immediately that there was way to much iron and other trash on this beach to effectively hunt it with a PI detector. So I went back to the car and grabbed my trusty V3i and put my 14X8 coil on it. Although this coil is not V rated it works like a charm on my V3i. I started gridding the beach and about 2 hours in I received a soft low signal. Since I dig everything I didn't even look at the meter and proceeded to scoop up the signal. When I looked in my basket I saw a small gold object that looked like a piece of foil. I looked at it closer and I could tell it was a flattened ring. When I returned back to the gathering place to check our finds I was delighted to see it was a 2.8 gram 22kt gold ring. It was the best find of the entire hunt! Another great find with my V3i.
