I recovered a sword belt plate this spring from the Schoharie valley in upstate New York after the floods with my White’s VX3. The plate was rare from the Holland society which was founded in NYC dedicated to collect information respecting the settlement & history of the descendants of New Netherlands.

Since the society was dedicated to history I thought it would be great to return an original sword belt plate to the group. After a great amount of research I located Peter Ten Eyck a trustee of the society and great grandson of General Gansevoort from the American Revolution. He was elated with having the plate returned & it would be prominently displayed in their museum. I could have sold this plate but doing the right thing has its own rewards.
