Success in England with MXT!
Published by Jessica M. on 02/21/16
We just returned from a week of metal detecting in Colchester, Essex, England. The weather was a challenge with pouring rain, sleet, strong winds and lots of mud but our MXT’s were up to the challenge.
We detected in Relic with Discrimination on 2 and the Gain on +1. The MXT banged out one target after the other. We found several beautiful hammered silver coins and some interesting artifacts. Clarence managed to find not one but TWO Finds of a Lifetime.
[split]
The first was a Saxon hammered silver coin, Edward the Confessor, 1050AD. It is only the fourth one known and the museums are thrilled to have it to study. His second big find was a Celtic gold quarter Stater from 30BC. Both coins have historical significance and we will have to wait and see if an export license will be granted for either coin. It was a week filled with Lucky Dog Days!
