Texas Park Metal Detecting Find
Published by Ernesto P. on 06/19/18
My name is Ernesto Pena and I live in Weslaco, TX.
I started metal detecting back in the mid 1970’s while living in the Houston, TX. area, but stopped within a span of 2 years or so, and after 35 years passed I jumped back into the hobby.
I have recently acquired a White’s MXT AllPro Metal Detector, Back in April of this year my friend and I went to Lincoln Park in Brownsville, TX. (This was our 2nd time to this park) and I was hunting on the downside of a slope near the edge of the park when I got a strong 94 signal on the VDI and I dug no deeper that 3 inches and there it was!!!
An 1889 Mexican 8 Reales of pure 20 oz. Silver!! Oh happy day!
This hobby is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors!
