The Find of a Life Time!
02/21/16

After Hurricane Irene hit the east coast of the US, I was desperate to hit the beach even though I live four hours from the beach. When I learned the tides were perfect I packed my E-TRAC into the car and headed down the road at 5:30am. I arrived on the beach at 9:30 and immediately started hunting. The erosion was much less than expected but the large shells on the beach showed promise.

I managed to find a titanium wedding band and a US Army stainless ring. I then hit the find of a life time. I got a strong 12 30 at 8" deep and pulled the biggest ring I have ever seen. I at first thought it was fake but it was clearly marked 18KT. It also had 52 diamonds on it. I decided to pack up after 4 hours and head home with my monster find. The gold tested to 18KT and the diamonds tested real. It weighs in at 21.4 grams and has an estimate of 2.1 carats of diamonds.

I recently upgraded to the E-TRAC and was curious on how it works on the beach. I can honestly say I am impressed with how the E-TRAC works on the beach and have the ring to prove it. It is a great all around detector.
