V3i Turns Amateur Into Coin Monsters
02/21/16

I took my son Bryan out to a rural field next to an old church here in Northern Indiana to show him how to use my new White's V3i. We pulled out coins as fast as we could swing the detector. In no time my son was an expert at finding and centering over coins. By pushing the trigger forward and watching the frequency display, centering over the coins turned out to be a breeze!

We tag teamed while one found and opened the hole the other would find the coins. In 2.5 hours before a snow storm on the first of January we found 30 pennies including 2 Wheaties, 11 nickels, 18 dimes, 10 quarters including 2 silver quarters, 1 walking liberty half dollar and the odd ball 1938 British one penny.

We used the standard "Coin and Jewelry" program and the detector was excellent at avoiding the junk. We dug some anyway just to make sure we were not missing anything. By looking at the frequency display we knew whether we were digging a coin or junk. Wow White's...what a detector!! You turned to "very" amateurs at metal detecting into a couple of coin monsters. Hope winter ends soon so we can continue the family explorations to see what other treasures we can find.
