Favorite Treasure Find: Some of my favorite finds are relics, tokens, and coins. Another favorite is an Art Nouveau figurine and a 1920’s men’s gold ring with a huge yellow topaz. I had it restored and now I wear it.
Equipment Used: This is just a fraction of the finds that I made during my first year using the Minelab Equinox 800 Metal Detector and most of them came from previously hard-hunted spots of mine. I was so blown away by the things that were coming out of the ground thanks to the Equinox 800. The Minelab Equinox metal detectors are incredible at making your old sites new again!

Favorite Treasure Find:1860s Civil War Era button from a coat that was worn by an Indian War-era soldier in the 1890s. The coat was most likely from a hand-me-down uniform from the Civil War provided to Buffalo soldiers during the Indian Wars. The Civil War button was my first significant find, so it is sentimental.

Favorite Treasure Find: Silver German Locket from WW1. This is my favorite find because it has such mystery as to how it ended up in South Carolina under the porch of an old house.

Favorite Treasure Find: Ornamental Sash Buckle with Emeralds. Found at my old 1890 Farmhouse in PA, I was very excited when I found out that the stones were real emeralds.

Favorite Treasure Find: An 1829 capped bust dime I found on my family farm. This is my oldest silver coin, and I found it with the 6” sniper coil for the Equinox.

Favorite Treasure Find: This cut piece of silverware was made by silversmith JC Stedman, John Cooper Stedman, in the early 1800s. He died in a train accident on November 11, 1833, at the age of 34, and was the first documented death in America from a train derailment. Other passengers on the same car were John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States, and Cornelius Vanderbilt, of the famous Vanderbilt family. Found in Lenoir City TN, on private property. It appears to be a family memento, they probably cut the rest of the piece up to sell the silver and kept the part with his name on it. He was based in North Carolina, not far from Tennessee.

Favorite Treasure Find: A cannonball! I always wanted to dig one up! I kept seeing other detectorists finding them and I finally found one for myself!

Favorite Treasure Find: Trench Art-Lead pencil hand-carved from a Civil War 3 Ringer. The pencil would have been used by a soldier and dipped in ink, berry juice, or his own blood to write in a journal or letters home. This was found in Jackson, Ohio while working with other detectorists to assist with getting the property on the National Historic Registry.
