Early one July morning in 1997....

Early one July morning in 1997, Ray set out to detect his Uncle’s Farm in Paulding County, Georgia. It was thought that during the Civil War, the property was used to travel to and from the Battle of Pickett’s Mill, which had taken place nearby. He turned on his new Fisher 1266x and went straight to the creek running through the property to start his day. After getting to the creek bank and beginning his hunt within minutes, he had his first signal, and boy was it a doozy! Out of the creek bank, Ray pulled this Springfield Rifle Barrel. This rifle was the primary weapon used in the Civil War by most infantrymen. Ray had put this type of find number 1 bucket list, and he found it found within minutes of searching. Ray still uses his Fisher 1266x 23 years later.
